Actually, there are a couple auctions coming up that I would like. These are a little more upscale so any tips on where to stop bidding would be great :)

I would stop before I started. Both items are sold from Cyprus. Am I not correct there is an agreement with the US regarding their antiquities not being allowed through US customs? Will customs allow the Roman coins in because they are not Cypriot issues or will they say if it is old and in Cyprus it is protected? I'd let someone in another country have these. There are plenty of nice coins in other countries that carry fewer potential problems. Has anyone here been buying from Cypriot eBay sellers?

I have, but not in the past few months. No problems with my purchase though.

I recently bought a Greek issue of a Cypriot king and it arrived just fine, from Cyprus. I had no idea there was any sort of restriction.

On a side note, eBay just pulled one of my auctions because the coin was Mesopotamian, and there's an embargo on products originating from Iran, never mind that Iran wouldn't exist for another 1500 years, AND Rhesaena is modern Ras-Al-Ain in TURKEY!

But y'all can sleep soundly now, knowing that eBay is keeping you safe from scoundrels like me.
