This little alien on a Gallic Potin is proof again that aliens were a problem back in first century Gallia(now France)

He has the characteristic bug eyes and a light saber, goodness only knows what the wolf like creature devouring something on the reverse is - maybe a chupacabra 1st century style?

I saw this piece on Vcoins about ten years ago and just had to have it. Celtic coins have a allure all their own with their mystical designs that leave much to interpretation.

Aliens were also spotted along the Rhine, in Germania, were the local Celtic tribes depicted them as joyful, cheerful little men with strange hairdos who spent a lot of the time dancing, as evidenced by this quinarius minted ca. 40-10 B.C by the tribe of the Ubier.

They mysteriously disappeared before the arrival of the Romans, never to be seen again...

Khingila of the Alchon Huns. C. 440 AD. I like to think that it is Beldar Conehead. Rare by the way.

I have to wonder that the Celts were aliens or something. At any rate they sure were a fascinating people. Sometime I would really like to get a coin of Queen Boudicea

Rare is a relative word. Educational Coin at FUN had a bag of a couple of hundred of the exact coin. I bought two of them with better than normal reverses.

Prrof aliens were more common than we think!

No alien coins but what if we're all living backwards in time like Merlin from the King Arthur story? It would mean that our ancient coins are really coins of the distant future.
