I find the my quest to obtain at least on coin of all the distinct empires from antiquity, far more daunting then I initially expected. Although I am finding the market is at a place where one could obtain many rare silver coins from the sub-continent for not a lot of money. Many of these coins are extremely rare, miscataloged, poorly understood and severely understudied. I could find next to nothing regarding additional information about this coin an others like it. Maybe some of the &quot;old timers&quot; can share some light on these pieces.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>This piece toned black in color retains its original condition. From my understanding of the obverse figure it might be struck a bit high obscuring Lakshmi&#039;s nimbate.
