Dear All, As I am a new member I am posting here my first topic, I am quite busy to build-up a collection of Armenian Greek coins, I am amazed how many different coins there are especially from Tigranes II the Great. This my collection until now, I only have copper coins, the Silver is still too expensive for me, anybody out there also collecting these. In general I am collecting coins from the Near East, also for example of Commagene. I wish you all a very good day. Gilbert
Welcome Gilbert. That's an impressive collection! We don't see too many ancient Armenian coins on the board, so these are a welcome sight. I have just one Armenian coin, this small Tigranes II bronze.

I haven't collected any Artaxiad coinage yet, although I'd like to - they just don't seem to come around very often at affordable prices. I recommend Paul Bedoukian's Coinage of the Artaxiads of Armenia. 40 pages of history and analysis, a catalog of 167 types, and 8 plates of well-imaged coins...
You guys are like a museum! Really impressive collections in this forum, I really enjoy just lurking in here. You don't find these hunting rolls in banks.
