Its a real shame to here about the Sasanian coin. It was a magnificent "looking" piece. Admittedly these coins are often recovered in high grade with good silver, and I really don't think I can pick out fakes from let say, the vast amount of imitative coinage and those of incidental kings.

As far as kidarite gold pieces, I was looking at a really nice 8 gram 14k gold stater for really not a lot of money. I have been meaning to add one to my collection, but in the last month or so, I have been putting a lot of pressure on the paypal account, so maybe in the not to distant future. Problem is though if I get Kidarite gold then I will need Kushan Gold. If I get Kushan gold then I will need Persian gold and even if I come up with the cash for that I will still not be happy because I would then need Roman gold to complement it. If I indeed end up getting all these gold pieces. I will then need to find a new wife and a new (not as nice) place to live. So right now -its baby steps. I have a tendency to "snow-ball" my collection. Thats why I have all kinds of coins from all parts of the world - across all times.
