According to Wikipedia, he was responsible for introducing Greek as the Eastern Empire's official language. He apparently reorganized the Byzantine imperial administration and the imperial armies and strengthened the Empire in the process. </font></span></font></p><p> </p><p><font size="4"><span style="color: #000000"><font face="Times New Roman">This coin was purchased this last Sunday as part of a small batch (paid a few dollars per coin). At that time I knew nothing about the coin(s) & they were purchased for the fun of figuring them out. This “S” coin ends up being issued under the ruler Heraclius.
