well, here is one of my favorite "c" coins... a constantine i of the cyzicus mint, i think unlisted. look at those abs! ...but it must have been chilly that day.
I haven't checked this thread in a few days. Glad to see it's still alive and that we're still on the letter "C". Constantine II; 326-8 AD Bronze AE3, 20mm/3.7g, Thessalonica mint, OBV: CONSTANTINVS IVN NOB C, head, laureate, draped & cuirassed bust left / REV: ROVIDENTIAE CAESS, camp-gate with two turrets and star above, SMTS in ex. (RIC VII 157.1)
Claudius, 41-54 AD AE Dupondius, 29mm/11.3g; Rome Mint. Obv: TI CLAVDIVS CAESAR AVG P M TR P IMP. Claudius bust left Rev: CERES AVGVSTA, Ceres seated holding corn ears and torch, S C below. (RIC.I.94)
Now you're bringing out the BIG GUNS! You've got a beautiful set of Constantine II's Bing. The third one you just posted with the green patina.... Wow!
Thanks RB. I haven't been collecting these later Imperial coins for a while now. I haven't even been looking at them, but they are kinda nice, eh?
