I sent some coins that were suspected problems, but wanted to see how they looked slabbed with not much investment. 1882 Seated Liberty Dime EF-45 Details (Corroded - Cleaned) 1832 Capped Bust Quarter VF-30 Details (Graffiti - Repaired) Low Mintage 320,000 1927-S Standing Liberty Quarter VG-8 Low Mintage 396,000 1925 Stone Mountain AU-55 Details (Cleaned)
I agree, I thought it would be higher but I was pleasantly surprised by the peace dollar. I'm not sure why ANACS gets bashed so badly, they don't grade easy as far as I can tell.
I think they grade pretty tough. The holders though, are UGLY! It would do them wonders to get a serious looking holder, not a bright yellow goofy shaped clown of a holder.
Well their holder doesn't let the coin shift around like NGCs holders for 8 Reales. It's pretty ghetto to have to tap the corners of the NGC holder to get the coin straight.
And what a surprise - NGC over-grades. Anyone here submit 20 for crossover and have 18 of them not cross?
Got the email today that my coins are graded and heading home. Once they arrive I'll post 'em up. IIRC, both grades seem to correspond well to the CT opinions/grades/guesses when I first posted them here back when I got them. https://www.cointalk.com/threads/just-received-1955-franklin-half.256933/ https://www.cointalk.com/threads/1853-gold-dollar.249978/ Rob
