I can grade coins and I'm pretty good at it tho maybe a shade conservitave tho not Doug tough!! I have to be I buy a lot of raw coins from estate sales etc and need to be dble to grade and detect cleaning or altered surface etc. I started with coins before there was tpgs. My last pcgs submission on 2 gold coins was a ms 62 I called au 58 and a au 58 I called 55 I think pcgs is getting fairly leinient lately
Frankly I don't care what people or dealers do at coin shows. People still buy my coins despite whatever holders they are in and pay good money for them. Plenty of people believe in so called "third-rate" holders because if they didn't no one would bother to slab with them. It doesn't take a genius to figure that out. You people who only buy PCGS and NGC coins are a herd of sheep and a well organized cabal of stupids. Frankly I see no difference among PCGS, NGC, SEGS, ICG, ANACS because they all equally overlook things and make mistakes. If you can't see that then maybe it's time you take your head out of your backside and begin to see circumstances for what they really are.
How about acg, gcgs, ani, nnc, nes, wcg, unc, nga, sgs, and pgs? Honestly you really have the best selection of never heard of before and never to be heard from again slabs. But seriously in addition to the quarter books highlighted there is this. Here is photo grade from pcgs for everyone but you to compare Your dollar is definitely not a ms65, which cdn has at $137. So ms64 is $51, and ms63 is $40 in the cdn. This is why I never will buy any slab not ngc or pcgs. You want $80 for a $40 coin. The fact that they wrote ms67 makes it a joke. Even my cat knows it is not a ms67.
Glad you mentioned this coin to me as I have to delete the listing. I had a slow buyer to pay but got a best offer of $49.99 for it which is fine. On another auction listing, that 50 cent 1982-S George Washington PF 66 NGC Sample slab I paid $40 for, there is a similar listing bid up now on Ebay at $128.50! Yes, I'm amazed. Some people are downright stupid. I'll be selling mine given this sudden demand. I've had some experience with coins slabbed by the TPG you mentioned. GCGS, ANI, NES, WCG, UNC, SGS, NNC, many more of their coins are not graded with accuracy. One must not take their grades seriously as they make mistakes much more often than the 1st, 2nd and 3rd tier services I recognize as being able to evaluate with somewhat dependable accuracy. There are many TPG out of business I believe were decent graders, but the ones you mentioned to me aren't and it is good most of them are no longer in business.
40_Milaetc., you are certainly entitled to your opinion on third party grading services. My issues are accuracy, consistency, and liquidity. These are most likely to be found with pcgs, ngc and third place ANACS. The old original ICG was tough but not so much now. Segs? I'm sure Larry Briggs knows the diagnostics of a Pr. Isabella but in its current holder that coin is just downright illiquid. Ultimately the market decides what these things are worth. I am glad you have a successful eBay store but I feel that describing coins in alphabet soup holders as "gem" is misleading, as gem traditionally means MS-65. "Uncirculated" or "MS" in the title would be more accurate. Finally, describing your fellow collectors as a "herd of sheep" and "cabal of stupids" tells me all I need to know about you as a person. Have a nice weekend.
If you know Larry Briggs understands what a Proof Isabella is supposed to look like then don't you believe this whole situation where his holders are "illiquid" doesn't make sense? This company has been blacklisted unfairly. Yes, I know they've overlooked problem coin before but so do the 1st tier services.

By the way, that's one attractive cat you've got.
Again bye. Just don't believe beans will be around whenever you cash out. Nothing last forever Albanese tracks look his passed stops only two have recovered .
