As a club we have sponsored together with another regional club four National Money Shows, and one Worlds Fair of Money.&nbsp; Our local club members have been recipients of some priceless opportunities over the years.&nbsp; The camaraderie is palpable.</p><p><br /></p><p>For the most part numismatics is a solitary hobby.&nbsp; The only time we meet others are at local, and regional shows.&nbsp; The ANA conventions are just on larger scale.&nbsp; The exposure to things other than one collects helps round one out and expose one to so many numismatic adventures. Taste and see.</p><p><br /></p><p>By all means, join the ANA.&nbsp; Whether you select the on line plan for <i>The Numismatist,</i> or the hold in your hand version you cannot find a better subscription value together with a lot of history and numismatic information. </p><p><br /></p><p>Also, find an join a local club to join as well. Worlds of numismatics will open up for you whether you collect US, foreign, ancients, tokens or gambling chips.&nbsp; All are welcome.&nbsp; Regarding scandals and such, it eventually catches up with miscreants.&nbsp; The heart and soul of the hobby is present at the ANA, there are a lot of people there who work very hard to make sure the hobby is enjoyed by all.[/QUOTE]</p><p><br /></p>
