It gives you access to coin collection insurance that is quite affordable.

There are plenty of pluses. Only negative I know is the debit to your bank balance. Apart from the money magazines ( will access to 125 years of back issues) one thing I like is the library. I just returned four items to it today.

I pay postage and insurance both ways. I had 3 books, one heavy, and a DVD. Shipping and insurance each way was $7.50. Last time was much less because it was one, both lighter and lower insurance.

Probably my #1 plus for ANA membership.

How much does it cost? I've never looked into it.

physics-fan3.14 You got any more of them.... prooflikes?

It varies based on the value of your collection, what level of coverage you want, where your collection is stored, and your home security situation. You can contact them for a specific quote for your situation: http://www.hughwood.com/sub_menu.php?submenuId=180

In the grand scheme of things, though, it is not expensive.

I let mine expire, I didn't see any advantages to me having it.

For me, it was to submit small batches of coins to NGC (i.e. less than $150).

But now, I'd rather just let my submission pile get big enough that grading fees will cost at least $149 so that I can get NGC's Gold membership, which comes with an equivalent cost in submission vouchers.
