The results really didn't come as I thought. The two I was betting on winning were Kagin and Herbert. I'm not really that gun-ho on some of the guys that won this time---it seems that all they do is collect membership from as many clubs around the nation. To me there is just something about a "joiner". Speedy
Kagin was probably rejected because of his recent legal problems. Herbert-- I have no opinion on. Does anyone know anything about him?
Alan Herbert has given a lot to this hobby over the years, and many may recognize him as the individual who answers the reader questions in Numismatic News. But his age has come into question, and some have said that he sleeps through Board meetings. He also made some comments about the ANA problems earlier in the year that turned a lot of voters away from him.
I have been a member of the ANA for several years. As an intern this summer, I have been able to get an insider's look at how the ANA operates at the headquarters at Colorado Springs. It has made things pretty interesting, especially with all the internal politics of the past few years.
