People post crazy stuff they find on eBay or wherever and I thought it might be fun to make a single thread. Post a pic of the coin or screen grab of the crazy stuff you find for sale.

I found this in the category of Indian States in world coins. Can't think of anything better to say than What!?!

What!? Is right. I'm completely confused about that one. Who bothers making fake '72s?

Idiot sellers can come up with anything to peddle on EBay. They should all band together in a Stupid Contest.

Almost looks like a drink coaster. Doesn't have any details about it.

But is it a fake though, and what is that around the edge? Perhaps it would help if something was in the photos that allowed a better idea of its true size, but I can't help but think it's some sort of odd novelty.

Does anyone have the original link handy?

If this guy really is auctioning this off as a coin and not a drink coaster then I'm speechless!!

    Thank you.

I still have to go with some sort of novelty, but this, of course, doesn't explain why it's being offered as a coin though; perhaps the size is correct (or quite close) after all. Even people with zero interest in coins as collectibles should have enough sense to recognize something isn't "right" with this one.

My first thought was also "drink coaster" and then I came across this page selling coin drink coasters: http://www.cafepress.com/ indian-head-one-cent-coin coasters

    This is one example:

They don't seem to have the strange wood frame with felt backing, which reminded me of an air hockey piece.

    The mystery lingers...

    AND $7.00 SHIPPING??!?! :blackeye:

That one might go the distance with a legit TPG - probably not at the same grade, but if it made 63 you'd be in the money. What's the item number?

Can't remember the number, but do remember that there seemed to be enough wear in the hair to make it AU and no apparent luster so lower. MS 66 it ain't.
