A few quick handfuls at lunch and this is the results. Finding very few non silvers . Maybe 2or 3 per handful. This is amazing!

I had thought (incorrectly so, I now know) that all Kennedy dollars after '64 were not silver. Anyway, congratulations. I still can't get over a teller calling you. Wow.

Been going through the half dollars most the evening. It’s incredible. Don’t think I’ve found a roll worth of clads, but have put together 40 rolls of 60’s half’s. Still have lots to go through. But I need more tubes before I can continue. Need a break anyway. This is blowing my mind!!

This score is beyond epic. And yet it keeps giving it up! I know I'm thrilled watching your tally add up. Keep on, keepin' on!

    Congratulations!

    Recommend you weigh those '65s.

Please explain why weigh the 65’s? Is there a difference ?

I believe there were some 90% silver '65's accidentally minted and released when they were all supposed to be 40%.

DSCN4827.JPG The final tally is in. 100 rolls of 40%ers plus $8 overflow.
    4 rolls 1965
    8 rolls 1966
    30 rolls 1967
    27 tolls 1968
    23 rolls 1969
6 rolls Misc AU 60's coins I set aside.

I'm really still in disbelief that I was able to find that much silver......a lot ( more then Half) of it was D mint marked. Whoever collected it must have been out west.

I'm curious.....how confident can I be that a $1000 bank bag of halfs is actually $1000. I can't get my tally to come up to the right numbers, makes me suspicious that the bag was short. I'll mention it at the bank tomorrow,,,,just wondering.

Interesting there is nothing newer than 1969 - I agree with Masterswimmer here - I'd guess somebody tossed every old half they got into a coffee can. They probably passed away and the heirs took them all to the bank, unaware they were worth more than face.

I might not be the one to bring up that conversation at the bank after receiving that gift horse. You know, shooting that gift horse in the mouth could kill the goose that laid the golden, or silver, egg. ;)
