An extremely rare Septimius Severus denarius?

    Rule out is strong in any case without more evidence but I tend to that as a real possibility.

    I do not accept any of the three coins shown here as official. Of the three, the only one I have doubts about my doubts is Type's. I'm no expert on these so you might want to select your expert advice elsewhere.
    It is not trivial when the coin is plated or made in a manner not exactly matching the official mint. For that matter, I would need to see evidence that this triviality applies to all mints (not knowing that accurate number) and dates.

    The first coin in this thread does not look like an official Rome mint issue. The portrait style is odd.
