I would like to thank @John Anthony for his generous gift to my collection

This was the attribution that came with the coin

    Valentinian II AD 375-392
    AE23 4.9g 6h Heraclea AD 383-388
obv. DN VALENTINIANVS PF AVG; Pearl-diademed, draped and cuirassed bust right
rev. VIRTVS EXERCITI; emperor standing right, holding labarum and globe, captive at feet right, star in left field

I notice that the obverse is very similar to my Valens example, who I heard the two are related.

WoWiE!!! Fantastic patina. Great strike. Very cool coin.
The two sure are related! Valens was Valentinian's brother. Making them uncle and nephew.

Cool gift CB, it wont be long before you will be able to link several together and form a decent chain of late empire emperors ;)
