It represents a date that is hard to find in U.S. mint history. The mint did not produce any cents in 1815 becaue it didn&#039;t have any planchets, coin blanks, available because of the War of 1812. Deposits of gold and silver bullion were limited because of the war. The quarter is the most common coin. The half dollar is an expensive key day, and there are only 12 to 14, 1814, half eagles. </p><p><br /></p><p>So, here it is, my only 1815 coin.
