I wish to thank my fellow intelligent collectors for your wisdom. In a few years, I hope to be as wise as you. It means so much to me that all of you kind members take the time to assist a newbie. If appropriate, may I say "bless you" for responding with great information as well as links for me. This hobby, for me, is a great fit, when I have people like you to advise me. I mean it. I thank you... Nancy aka girldly.
Someday I will photograph my inherited collection....which I am certain you, or any collector will appreciate...at least one of dad's coins.
I did not make my letters large to yell, but to say how uninformed I am, and lack experience....sorry for the misunderstanding.
I'm probably showing my age, but I bought silver at $5 an ounce and gold at $350. I would say that if I sold them today I would make a tidy profit. The only problem is I'm a collector not an investor, I buy coins for their beauty and collectability so I keep collecting, and most importantly, I collect what I like. Sometimes you get lucky, I by the uncirculated (with mint mark) coins from the mint. When I received the 2008, it turned out to be a mule, the 2008 with the reverse of 2007. Sent it to PCGS and it came back MS70, Same with the 2014 Britannia, bought that coin and being the British mint decided to go with the Lunar Series (the horse of course) bought that coin too. Turns out I got two mules, the Britannia without the denticles and the Horse with the denticles. PCGS graded both as a mule and MS70.
