They probably will not until the sets are available. But all information about the sets has been widely discussed in the numismatic press several times. It has also been discussed here several times.
Yes. see this post (in this thread page 1)... http://www.cointalk.org/showpost.php?p=152020&postcount=13
mintage for 20th anniversary silver proof with w mint mark: 250,000 plus 900,000 (regular mintage)= over 1 million. silver unc with w mint mark: 250,000 plus 20,000)= 270,000. silver reverse proof with p mint mark: 250,000 (that's it) key date, i think. this one is very special. as for gold: who cares.
press release out from the Mint http://www.usmint.gov/pressroom/index.cfm?action=press_release&ID=698
According to that press release that flyers10 so kindly posted, it looks to me like the Reverse Proof Gold Eagle as well as the Uncirculated are going to be the coins that might rise in value the greatest given that the mintage limit is 10,000...or at least they're the most rare out of the sets. Too bad hardly anybody can afford the set.
I would like to get the gold one but $2610 is steep. Considering right now I could get the uncirculated one for $650, the proof (before it was sold out) for $885, the reverse proof is $1075. That is outrageous.
Well just about everyone I thought!..lol. I pretty much decided to get 5 of the 3 piece silver sets. Already bought a Proof and Uncirulated Gold Buffalo coin. Just too much new good stuff from the Mint this year. I think all the options on the 20th Anniversary Coin sets could sell out in about a week. We will know shortly. Get your orders in early!
The mintage for the Unc 1 oz gold will be 30,000 - 20,000 from one set and 10,000 from the other set. The reverse Proof though, that will be 10,000. The regular 1 oz Proof mintage will be much higher as they will be identical to the Proofs not sold in the Anniversary sets. That's what they said about the '95 set too. I would say that this year, it's the gold
American Eagle 20th Aniversary Gold Coin Set- Soldout in 24 hours! From the mint: Orders have been taken that meet the maximum mintage level of 10,000 for the American Eagle 20th Anniversary Gold Coin Set. We will continue to accept orders in the event cancellations occur...
Hmm, makes me wonder if I should toss in an order there just in case. Of course not like I have $2600 sitting around. If I do place an order, do they wait till they ship to charge me?
I did not see that at the mint site http://catalog.usmint.gov/webapp/wc...ctId=13814&langId=-1&parent_category_rn=12738
I ordered one set of the 3-piece silver for one reason only...to get that reverse proof.Gotta have it. I think it will be worth the price of the entire set within a couple of years. I'll keep it next to my Enron stock.
I ordered my silver set today. My shipping status is I guess the sooner one of you guys sends a set back in because it's in poor shape, the sooner I'll get mine ! :eating:
i am a little suprised that the silver eagle sets are not selling that well. the 1996 silver eagle bullion coin with a mintage of 3,603,386 coins is selling for around $70.00 each. there are only 270,000 of the 2006 silver eagle coins with the W mint mark. the 1993 silver eagle proof coin has a mintage of 403,625 at a price of around $200.00 each the 1995 silver eagle proof has a mintage of 395,400 at a price under $200.00 each and the 1994 silver eagle proof coin has the lowest mintage of 372,165 at a price over $200.00 each the reverse proof coin has a mintage of 250.000 coins. that is two key dates so far for the silver eagles both for around a hundred bucks plus a 2006 silver eagle proof. as for them reaching a $1000.00 each/ set i dont see that happening, but what do i know.
