Great looking notes. Here's some of mine I picked up a couple of weeks ago. They are from 1930 and they are gold unit notes. American Banknote made tons of bills for many countries. I was surprised they did these as I thought I was buying notes that were made by the Chinese Gov't. Anyways, they're the first foreign notes I own but I hope to pick up more. :thumb:

Very nice notes. ABNCo ranks up there with the best technological artists of their time.

Nice. So Americans made Chinese money at one time instead of the other way around?

fyi: I just came across this site from someone located in the Czech Republic who has imaged all of the engraved plates in The Story of the American Banknote Company. He has a lot of other nice currency and engravings imaged on his site too, not only ABNCo work. Czech it out... :eek:hya:

ABNCo: Eaton Fine Letter Papers - Cinderella Stamps

I recently came across these fine little vignettes on some cinderella stamps by Eaton's Fine Papers company that have a theme of New York City, it's landmarks and urban scenes and thought I'd share them with you all.

Eaton's are still around in some capacity:

I'm really not into stamps but I have a few old timers laying around. I really was just looking for the 'Brooklyn Bridge' vignette but I found this little collection for a couple dollars so I brought them into my ABNCo collection. There are 10 pieces below, I don't know how many constitute a full set of them, nor the date these were printed. Maybe someone else here has further information about them.

    Enjoy!

These stamps measure 1" x 1.5" and were scanned 100% at 1200 dpi then rescaled to 1600 pixels wide for posting on the forum.

These are terrific! I wonder if they were issued for the 1939 World's Fair in New York. They look about that period.

That's an excellent thought! I am still looking around on the web to try to find some dates for these, will post that info if/when I learn the date(s) of issue.

I was thinking the same thing, so small yet so engraved with such a high level of detail.
