    I've lost interest in these.

  4. I have a strange feeling these are going to be bought up mostly by the larger dealers and sold at a premium down the road based on some marketing ploy suggesting rarity, exclusivity, etc. My plan is to buy a few in which the designs look cool to me and leave it at that. These are impressive in hand but demand is just not there. I cannot see interest in them increasing except if some error is discovered or a significant increase in spot silver occurs. TC

Wow, you nailed that side of the argument. I'm excited about this jungle scene ONLY because it makes likely that I'll be able to get a Denali. Similarly, I keep looking back at the spouse gold, and still can't find a design I love there, so...not for me. HOWEVER, somewhere deep down I think the "P" pucks WILL demand a premium eventually, as evidenced by the prices of 5 oz silver elsewhere (e.g. Pandas), but I don't see the value for me unless I really enjoy looking at 'em.

I don't know, I think some of the large dealers overplayed their hand and got burned on the 2011 dated coins and will be less likely to buy them in large numbers.

The price on these has just been listed, looks like the mint is going with the same $204 price as the other coins :headbang: I think im going to wait until the price of silver drops enough for them to lower the price or go's up enough to make the price of $204 look a little better. Maybe they are just starting with the higher price to milk all the FS label chasers?

If silver keeps going down I may go ahead and build the bullion set of these I was considering back in 2010 before it jumped up. I have no interest in the Proofs or the P UNCS though.

Let's see. They still have all of those 2011s left they can't sell at $205.00. Interest in these has been steadily waning. They are listing this new coin which recognizes a place a lot of people do not even know at the same $205.00 price, thinking they will sell. All I can say is thank goodness the Mint is not a private corporation or they would be out of business. Am I really missing something or would it make a lot more sense to offer these at a price that is not so far removed from the current silver price in order to generate interest in them?

  12. Does anyone have a link that shows mintages for BOTH the uncirculated and bullion pucks including projections through 2012? Thanks, TC

I'll buy one of these for $204 if they made a reverse proof Hawaiian Volcanoes piece with less than 5000 produced. Now that would be worth talking about.

You are obviously dreaming, but so am I...Rev proof pucks was my recommendation to the mint, when they asked me to fill out a survey. I'd buy several more designs in RP, maybe all of them, even at 20k minted each...but yeah, Hawaii would be incredible. In current vapor blast finish, I'm only looking forward to Denali for 2012.

Yes, that my pipe dream. But $204 for 5 ounces of silver is a fantasy as well.

I like American fantasies anyhow  and it's still half the price per oz of a panda ! Hang in there, ATB-ers!

It is my guess that most collectors and dealers are saving up for the 2-coin ASE set scheduled for early. Thus, I think this coin will get little attention. I plan to buy it because I aready have the rest of them. I'm thinking that I'll buy more of the 2-coin ASE's though.

Since I have all the others, also. I will order one of these, also. In fact I was looking at the Bullion version at Apmex and I just might have to order one of those, too.

I don't know what is up with the mint, why have they kept the ATB 5oz price steady for the past few months? Whenever silver goes up they are the first to take items down for repricing and increase prices, but when bullion goes down (and stays down, as it has recently) they just leave it alone.

I would bite on pretty much every ATB 5oz they have in stock at around $180, but I would settle for $185-190 so I can pick up 1 or 2. Until then I'm considering the bullion version from a secondary vendor. Their markup is just way too high considering bullion prices.

Are things really that bad for the mint that they need to have more than a 40% markup on bullion prices, instead of 25-30%?
