Amazing Christ/Virgin Mary Coin

    I saw this coin posted a few weeks ago on @Valentinian website & had to have it. It was at an excellent price as well.

    Technically I am catholic but I don't practice. I really loved the depiction Christ/Virgin Mary on it, and with full faces too. It also helped I needed this emperor for my Byzantine collection.

    Today is a fitting day to post it.

    Reverse: MP-ΘV to left and right of the Theotokos (Virgin Mary), three-quarter length figure standing facing, orans,, all inside border of large dots.

    Size: 26-29mm, 7.2g

    Notes: Overstruck on Class J follis (rare type).

    That is a beautiful coin Matt, here is mine. I picked it up a few years ago. I love yours, it has more character than mine.
