I picked up this incredible 1883-CC Morgan Dollar today. It's raw and I will be sending her to PCGS on Monday for Express Service. The story on her is she had been sitting in a cardboard 2x2 inside a safe deposit box since 1995. The 2x2 was marked as MS65 with $175.00 written in pencil.

The lines around the eagle on the reverse are die polish lines.

If that turns about being 67 you have made almost $4000 off of it.
Even with a 66 that number is over $500.

    Amazing buy.

Looks like VAM 5-A. Definitely at least a 66. Good score. :)

I'm not a morgan guy so educate me. That isn't rub on the high points? Eagle's breast, curl above the ear, lower leafs.

Well to clear some of the air... I did not pay $175.00 for it, not even close. That was the price from back in the mid 90's.

There is absolutely no rub on this coin at all.. It's shockingly pristine.

That is what's called cabinet or bag friction. Slight rubbing on the high points with morgans needs to be assessed only as a small component to the overall coin. This coin screams gem uncirculated so all we have with the high points is slight cabinet friction

@Markus1959 you are so correct!! These kinds of Morgan's show up raw very rarely. I was in disbelief that it had escaped encapsulation for so long. Well sorry for her, but that will be changing soon.

Any VAMpires want to chime in on whether they think VAM 5A is correct?

Speaking of hits, how on earth did this go MS67+? It's a PCGS + CAC from Heritage.

Maybe they got distracted by the cool die crack.
