Am I missing something here, or is this guy out of his mind like most ebay sellers?:goofer: http://cgi.ebay.com/6-Coins-Copper-...|240:1318|301:0|293:1|294:50#ebayphotohosting
I think he is perfectly sane. Just trying to make some money. Now, anyone who buys a set, that will be a different story.
"6 Coins Copper, Penny, One Cent, USA" with a BIN price of $1,550. He has already sold two! (Of course, both sales were to a shill.) Someone should report this auction. The description does not match the coins in the photo. The seller describes the coins as "copper" but the coins in the photo are all copper-plated zinc cents.
Unbelieveable. 100% positive feedback. That would be from shill bidders too for his 15 replys, I suppose.
Huh??????? "WERE'S THE COPPER" 2006 P Cent.......hmmmmm not much copper there...HAHAHAHAHAHAA If I had spare change and a warpped mind....I might consider it....hehehhee
in what we can save our money? -------------------------------------------- Old and New Coins Collection
"Am I Missing something here? " Yeah, the other $1,549.94 in coins. Otherwise, the $10 in shipping for #6 cents, that will cost $.42 to ship.
Some of those people were no longer registered users. And most of the others were praising his fast payment, not the coins they got from him.
I looked at the seller's feedback and it was empty but I did check completed listings and found this: http://cgi.ebay.com/6-Coins-Copper-US-one-cent_W0QQitemZ300308313950 What we have here is a clear money laundering situation and I've asked a friend to forward it to their contact with the FBI, since they need to look into this much closer. :kewl: Ribbit
I didn't mind the $1,550.00 but that $10 postage is just out of line. And with 100% feedback, how could you go wrong? We may be missing the important thing here and that is the dates on those coins. They may well be those rare 2003 or 2004 dates you know.
Ah ha! So my comments about the eBay is really a non-issue. It's chump change vs. the money they are pushing around.
Well, considering that they ended up going for $3,125, they could very well be rare dates! LOL! Now if I could only find someone who would pay me $3,125 for 6 pennies that I randomly pulled out of my pocket...
If anyone here feels "froggy" then feel free to notify the Illinois Attorney General's Office of this situation. http://www.illinoisattorneygeneral.gov/about/email_ag.jsp The seller lists their location as Chicago so the Illinois Attorney General would be the one that would investigate this, other than the FBI or IRS. I've already sent in a message but it never hurts to pester them to get action.
