Greek Kings of Numidia, Micipsa or Massinissa Massinissa issued an extensive coinage in bronze, but his coins cannot be reliably distinguished from the coins of his sons who reigned after him: Micipsa, Gulussa, and Mastanabal, because the coins are either not inscribed or usually inscribed with the Punic letters mem and nun, where "mem" means “Water” and "nun" means “Snake”. The current practice of most catalogues is to attribute the coins to “Kings of Numidia, Massinissa or Micipsa (?)” or similar Æ 26 (haven't weighted it yet) Numidia, Cirta (?) 148 -118 BC Müller 25; SNG Copenhagen 510-512; Sear 6596; Ob.: Anepigraphic; laureate, bearded head to left Rev.: Horse rearing to left; Punic letters (mem) and (nun) below horse.
