All Hadrian provincials coins

    Hmm. It does have a soapy/cast look but it's so hard to tell with these Alexandrian tetradrachms. You might try posting it on the Forvm Fakes board.

    returned and money back.
    the quality was a bit below my goal.
    otherwise they could conserve it .

    I don't think this coin is fake. I think it was coated with Renaissance wax, a common practice in earlier generations. A soak in acetone and/or mineral spirits would remove the wax.

    But that's a very cool coin, Oki ... I have a "similar" example, but it isn't an exact match (it has Alex The Great rather than Herakles)

    I've had this, my only ancient coin, for years. I think it's from about 160 a.d.

    I'd love to know more about it.

    I apologize if the images are goofy. I am new and this is my first attempt to post a pic.
