Fantastic posts guys!!!

I sold my 'Posthumous' Tet, issued a few years after the death of
Alexander..and now I'm actively bidding on a drachm replacement...lifetime or not depending on the price and my budget.

 

Wow, Nemo => that's a very sweet Avatar coin!! (congrats ... no wonder you wear it like a badge, my friend)

Oh, and there are also some additional amazingly cool examples posted (wow, you dudes have some fricken wicked coin-skills!!)

Diameter: 19 mm
Weight: 5.99 grams
Obverse: Head of Alexander as Herakles in Nemean lion scalp headdress to right
Reverse: Alexander between club and bow with bow case and quiver, cluster of grapes and monogram above
Other: A handsome coin, nicely centered with a pretty patina

 

My sole example, at present, is like Steve's....file photos and a bit dark ....(AE-16;5.5gm)

Regarding the portrait, it's technically Hercules, but even contemporaneously I believe people commented on how it looked like Alexander. Most portraits I have ever seen of Herakles does not look like this.

 

Perhaps ask Doug, I think they went to school together.

 

Now that's just plain mean. Doug is not that old. He went to school with Septimius Severus!

 

He means the "other" Doug.

 

I've seen a bunch of these but the Nemo coin is the only one where I can actually see the lion's face. Nice!!

 

Oh, sorry about that "other Doug". Maybe Kentuck is right then. DS is not that old. Well, almost.

Both Tets I presume....I'm still trying to replace my drachm and maybe a Tet sometime down the line. I hope I do as well as you and the others who posted.
