I really wanted a Liberal as about 40 years ago but the decent ones were $1000 and I wasn't about to pay that. I have seen nice ones now for $4000 and I'm not about to pay that. Some things do not change.

Wow Brian, you have some very sweet looking coins (congrats) ... please keep 'em coming!!

Ummm curious though, is the avatar-beagle taking the coin photos?

    ;)

... just jokes (I too really suck at the photo-side of this hobby ... I'm sure that you'll become good-enough, or even a pro once you learn some tricks from these ancient shutterbugs!!)

    keep-up the good work

Oh, and it's probably not a beagle, eh? (it's a very cute looking pooch)

Thank you very much for the kind words. I cannot blame Blue for eating my homework...yeah, bad photos! I warned everyone. She is a Basset-Beagle-Australian Shepherd mix. However, she does lay under my desk when I am working in my home office, so she does witness my poor picture taking and even gives me advice which I just seem not to heed! I will post some more, since I focus on Roman Republicans...but first, I need to work on my photo skills... Pretty bad of me, especially since my wife is a semi-pro photographer!

Did Blue inherit the stubborn streak of Basset Hounds? We had a Basset, and cripes that dog was stubborn. You couldn't teach it anything - Cesar Milan would have given up in frustration.

LOL, oh yeah she did inherit the Basset demeanor!!! I grew up around bassets, and Blue is my third "Basset" since being an adult. I've had scores of dogs in my life (have 3 now - besides Blue: a white German Shepherd mix and a Chihuahua / Jack Russell Terrier mix), and I adore Bassets...they are stubborn, and frankly, pretty smart dogs, loving, but you have to learn to adapt to their bull-headed ways! Once you do, they are a very loyal, loving breed. Blue barks like beagle (but much deeper), multi-colored and blue irises like a Australian-Shepherd, but she acts/thinks/lives like a Basset! (thank gawd, she does NOT drool like the Basset breed~ :)

WOW!!!! You're really on a super shopping spree!! I love the denarii and really like all your newest acquisitions......Like you, I'm still adjusting to taking photos...I need a stand and proper lighting to name a few things...but I keep spending all my cash, as you just have, on more and more coins with nothing left for camera stuff... LOL

I just pulled the trigger on a Julian Apostate coin and even filled another 'hole' in my new album I purchased from JA with a budget Pupienus..I'll try and post those later

Congrats Brian!!! I'd gladly welcome any of the coins you posted!!

LOL, yeah, I understand about the photos... :( I just ordered a low-cost stand, and will wing some lighting for a bit. I really only wanted to create a database for records and insurance. However, after watching all the posts, I wanted to show some of my more recent acquisitions. When I get more settled, I will start posting my Republicans. However, I do have 4 Attica Owl Tets that need some help with some metal "growth". I will post them soon for advice how to clean up or just leave alone... I got them years ago, and I believe they are approx 450BC...not the earliest designs from Athena, but reasonably early.

OH! So YOU got the album! :) John got me ANOTHER one from Dougsmit. I thought it was great, will fill in the holes...rather the whole album as the Empire is a vacuum in my collection! I asked Doug if they made one for Rupublican issues... he basically said there were too few of us collecting, a huge amount of varieties, and many issues too rare to get into an album... Bummer... SO, looks like I will just have to flip them and post to my David Sear book until I fill it! :)
