I'm looking to buy this coin today or tomorrow... It is being sold by a seller in Albania who has been selling for 5 years with 100% positive feedback. Even though, I don't trust overseas sellers totally. I have been wanting this particular coin for a while now, but not if it isn't genuine of course. albania1frangaari.JPG

I specialize in Albanian and am comfortable calling the coin genuine. With that said it still is probably a details coin on account of it's unnatural appearance so I'd pass and hold out on a better example.

I don't recall ever seeing current counterfeits of this coin. I have seen a few cast contemporary counterfeits. Additionally while any coin can be counterfeited, coins like this that have a collector base that can be counted on the tip of your finger as well as of relatively low value aren't prime targets.

On a final comment I find it humorous you don't trust oversees sellers. I don't know about you but when I am buying Italian Olive Oil I feel much better knowing its being shipped from Calabria as opposed to Detroit but to each their own

I do see what you mean about the coin coming from its home. I've just bought a couple that weren't what i expected so I am careful now. I may pass on it for now because of the little dent on the rim. Thank you for the information.

There are plenty of genuine, but cleaned examples coming from their homeland. This appears to be the case with the coin posted here.
