    Hello CT,

I have an Airborne token that I can't seem to find any history on. It is the size of a US nickel and is either nickel or plated base metal (not magnetic). Both sides are the same and it has coin orientation. The picture doesn't show the color right, it is bright silver like a BU nickel. Has anybody seen one of these or know their history? It could be WW2 era because it was in with a lot of 1940's world coins.

    Thanks.

It looks like it might be the 173rd Airborne Brigade.

Thanks for the lead Chris. Definitely the 173rd, but I still can't pin a date or find the significance of it. Going to have to keep searching.

It is the 173rd from Bien Hoa (camp Zinn) Vietnam.
    It's plated brass. Cunningham VN6150a.

They were also the first brigade strength unit in
Vietnam. They were in the Bien Hoa sector from
May 1965 to August 1971. They were also the only US
airborne to make a jump-operation Junction City.
The 101st converted over airmobile and the 82nd
spent a good part of the war on riot duty in the US.
And jumping had become somewhat obsolete with
    Airmobile.
It's a slot machine token they used in Em clubs.

Very cool info. Mine has no wear at all, and both sides show lathe lines from machining done to the die. I don't think this one ever went through a slot machine. Thanks again.
