It isn't hard to find a nice Licinius for very very cheap, which is why I ended up with a bunch of them This is my earliest, from shortly after he was raised to Augustus, and before the follis shrunk below AE1 size Then a slightly less early (still an AE2 follis) And finally some nice AE3's
Coins of Licinius are plentiful and I think a great place to start for new collectors. When someone is starting to collect and perhaps is a little tight on budget you can acquire some coins of Licinius that show excellent detail at prices that some spend on "uncleaned" coins. You can really hold a great ancient coin in your hand for a very reasonable price. Unfortunately Constantine did his best to remove this ruler from the historical records, but due to the length of his rule and the epic battles he was involved in - he still stands as a major figure in our history. Click on the image to see a bit more detail... I have a few but do not claim to have rare or excellent examples. But I like them.
Never too late to pick up a Licinius. That's a nice one, @bcuda. This is probably my favorite Licinius. Most of his coins with Jupiter do not get as heavy as this.
