It isn't hard to find a nice Licinius for very very cheap, which is why I ended up with a bunch of them

This is my earliest, from shortly after he was raised to Augustus, and before the follis shrunk below AE1 size
    Licinius follis genio alexandria.jpg

Then a slightly less early (still an AE2 follis)
Licinius follis iovi conservatori avgg nn.jpg

    And finally some nice AE3's
Licinius AE follis SPQR OPTIMO PRINCIPI Rome.jpg
    Licinius sol invicto comiti.jpg
    Licinus I trier genio.jpg

Coins of Licinius are plentiful and I think a great place to start for new collectors. When someone is starting to collect and perhaps is a little tight on budget you can acquire some coins of Licinius that show excellent detail at prices that some spend on "uncleaned" coins. You can really hold a great ancient coin in your hand for a very reasonable price.
Unfortunately Constantine did his best to remove this ruler from the historical records, but due to the length of his rule and the epic battles he was involved in - he still stands as a major figure in our history.

Click on the image to see a bit more detail... I have a few but do not claim to have rare or excellent examples. But I like them.

Never too late to pick up a Licinius. That's a nice one, @bcuda.

This is probably my favorite Licinius. Most of his coins with Jupiter do not get as heavy as this.

    Licinius - Iovi Nicomedia c 311 heavy 2343.jpg
    LICINIUS I
AE Follis. 7.41g, 22.8mm. Nicomedia mint, circa AD 311. RIC VI Nicomedia 69a corr. (no eagle at feet). O: IMP C VAL LICIN LICINIVS P F AVG, laureate head right. R: IOVI CONS-ERVATORI, Jupiter standing left, chlamys hanging behind, holding Victory on globe and sceptre; A in right field, SMN in exergue.

I am always on the look out for Mars types of Licinius which turn up less frequently than those on CtG.

Obv:– IMP LICINIVS P F AVG, laureate head right
Rev:– MARTI CON-SERVATORI, Mars, helmeted, in military dress, cloak over right shoulder, standing right, holding upright spear, point downwards, resting left hand on shield
    Minted in Ticinum (* | _ // PT). A.D. 314-315
Reference:– RIC VII Ticinum 13 var (Unlisted officina - Example noted on NotInRIC)

His output from Lugdunum is also quite scarce.

Obv:– IMP LICINIVS P F AVG, Laureate, cuirassed bust right
Rev:– GENIO POP ROM, Genius standing left, modius on head, naked but for chlamys round waist, left hand holding cornucopiae and right hand holding patera
    Minted in Lugdunum (TF | * / PLG). A.D. 315
Reference:– RIC VII Lugdunum 48 (R4). Bastien XI 598 (8 examples cited)
