@stldanceartist is that Moroccan 1371 (1951) 50 francs gold or is it toning? I'd be interested to know coz I was sold this gold metal off-strike (MS65) as being one of only two ever minted in gold

I don’t think it’s gold, but it’s definitely proof-like. Its absolutely gorgeous in hand.

I love it......looks phenomenal. Usually the guys I buy from don't get their facts wrong and if they do, there's a lifetime warranty so I guess I can relax and accept their description of my coin. Anyway....to stay on the subject:

South Africa 1892 'Double Shaft' Pond MS62. Low mintage of 15,650 indicated for both the 'double shaft' and the even scarcer 'single shaft' variety. This refers to the shaft on the wagon in the coat-of-arms on the reverse. Most of them are quite well circulated and its difficult to find anything in decent quality.

That's an unusual and seldom seen fraction John. Nice coin. :)

I just liked it because of the theme (dancers) and the crazy amount of die polish lines...

Here are a few more German East African coins I either have had or still have (I believe the only coin I still own is the 1912 J 1 Heller, which is in an NGC MS63BN slab):

I have a thing for Somali coins/notes since I do a lot of work regarding Somalia. I've collected quite a big group of FAO coins and a lot of old notes. I didn't know about the 10th anniversary coins like yours though. One more thing to start looking for :)

Have you come across the recent (around 1999-2000) zodiac sets? I recall having a couple sets come across my desk in the last year or so.

On another note, I’m suddenly experiencing sellers remorse for letting some 1970’s Sudan proof sets go recently. Super low mintages, and if you like camels...lol

I've seen a few. I try to stay away from the gimmicky coins though - and Somalia has a lot. I guess a lack of formal government for so many years will do that :p

I have a lot of coins from Africa. This one I have posted before, and it remains one of the most unusual and pretty African coins I have. 2014 AO 20 k obv.JPG 2014 AO 20 k rev.JPG

I collected world coins when I was a kid in the 1960's but never managed to get one from Cape Verde or Cabo Verde, then a Portuguese colony off the west coast of Africa.

These arrived in 2017 from the usual source:

    Portugal Cape Verde 1 Escudo 1949 (Nickel-bronze)

    Portugal Cape Verde 2-1/2 Escudos 1953 (Nickel-bronze)

    Portugal Cape Verde 10 Escudos 1953 (Silver, 25mm, 5.04gm)
