Southern Rhodesia, now known as Zimbabwe (since 1980).

So much to love about this coin. Mercury, the gazelle, the toning.. except it's aluminum.

 

1952 French Somaliland (Djibouti) 20 francs. Aluminum-bronze, which does look and feel better in hand than plain aluminum.

 

Okay, not really a coin, but money from Katanga in what is now Congo.

 

Wow, looks like a big hunk of copper. Please tell more, or at least a link to some story about it. That thing rivals the huge Swedish plate money!
