Aemilian, Ae of Viminacium

Aemilian was a powerful general who defeated invading Goths and got himself proclaimed emperor by his troops. He marched on Rome and defeated Trebonianus Gallus, but when Valerian came at him with a much larger army, Aemilian's soldiers mutinied and assassinated him. He reigned all of three months in AD 253.

His short reign makes him one of the challenging slots in an emperor set, which is probably exacerbated by the fact that a damnatio memoriae was issued against him. Likely many of his already scarce issues were destroyed.

Even rarer are the coins of his wife, Cornelia Supera, which will run you a few grand for a nice example. What do you all have for Aemilian or Cornelia Supera? Enquiring minds need to know. :)

Nice one! Being an Aemilian certainly makes it one of the cooler Viminacium coins.

A couple of Aemilians; one imperial and one provincial.

Philip I, the Arab, 244 -249 A.D., Viminacium, Moesia Superior
O: IMP M IVL PHILIPPVS AVG, laureate, draped and cuirassed bust right, from behind; R: P M S COL VIM, Moesia standing facing, head left, extending hands over bull on left standing right and lion on right standing left, AN VIIII (year 9 of the Viminacium colonial era..248 AD) in exergue . it's cool that these coins are dated from the founding of the colony in 239, and cool that the animals are legion "mascots".

Since we're talking Viminacium bull and lions, here's Hostilian! Apologies - this one has a hard-to-photograph patina.

Believe it or not, I like your"fake" of Cornelia Supera. If it's a Slavy, it's collecatable on it's own and has value even as a copy.
