Looking for other's input and possibly personal experience on this wooden try design that I'm building to display my ancients.

This wooden tray will basically be a large wedge allowing me to affix coin trays to the top so that they can be viewed at a 20 degree angle. I'll be using mahogany for the sides but was thinking of a mahogany particle board for the bottom and top (under the trays). At some point I'm sure I'll need to use some type of adhesive. Any suggestions? Thoughts in general?

No.... But I will be following this thread because I have the same conundrum with my fledgling twelve Caesars collection.

I recall the meat man built a handsome one. I'm not sure if he cross-posted it here, or if it was just on Numisforums.

Most particle boards are full of glues, might not be good for off gassing. if you use glue use just a simple wood glue. Stay away from the moderns.
I would stick with solid woods. Most Mahagany's are actually a Luan.

Ten out of twelve completed is past the “fledgling” stage, now. That birdie is flapping its wings and taking flight! ;)
