Well lads and ladies, today is the the day I turn 18. I’m thankful to have spent my childhood years indulging in my hobbies and to have a full amazing forum dedicated to a hobby so dear to me. Here’s some recent pick ups PHILIP I THE ARAB AE sestertius. Moesia, Viminacium. Moesia standing between bull and lion. A Henry VIII half groat from York, minted during his 3rd issue
C.comanmander, Congrats on #18 ! I was 18 years old 55 years ago but remember the day clearly since I had to register for the draft . I spent my 19 birthday in Viet Nam . The good old days ....
Happy birthday. After my 18th I just didn't care anymore. I hope you milked all out of it you could, lol.
Congratulations! Imagine what your collection will be like in 30-40 years time... I only started two years ago, so you've got a 40-year headstart on me. My oldest son turned 18 three days ago. He said he'd go out and celebrate, get himself a few beers with friends. That's the last I've heard of him...
I recently turned 26. I bought a handful of coins, among them my first Probus tet. Nothing too special, but cool.
There are always things that happen that 'define' a generation by making 'members' know what they were doing when it happened. Mine was the assignation of President Kennedy. Everyone in my age bracket knows what they were doing that day. Before me, there was the end of WWII (which day depended on where you or your family was). Later we had the first man on the moon, the Challenger disaster and now Covid. It would be nice if we could have a positive event that could be memorable again. Whether that happens depends more on the 18 year olds than it does on those of us who have made such a mess out of history. Happy Birthday and good luck.
