Cohen 396. Martin 52. Nicolas 49. RIC 9.</p><p>Rare and unusually nice, an attractive example struck in good silver and without the usual porosity. Very fine.</p><p>ex. Leu.</p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><b>Number 2: </b></p><p><b>As of Nero.</b></p><p><br /></p><p>I consider this to be an exceptional example of the type, with a finely styled portrait.</p><p>Not perfect by any means, but a very pleasing example.</p><p><br /></p><p><b>Nero 54-68</b>. Ae As Lugdunum 64-67.</p><p>Obv: Bare head right</p><p>Rev: Genius standing with patera and cornucopia sacrificing over altar.</p><p>RIC 533</p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><b>Number 3: </b> Sestertius of Vespasian bearing the legend <b>SPQR P P OB CIVES SERVATOS </b>within Oak Wreath (Corona Civica).</p><p><br /></p><p>The full inscription <b>&quot;Senatus Populus Que Romanus Pater Patriae Ob Cives Servatos&quot; </b>translates as &#039;&#039;The Senate and the people of Rome, Father of the Country, For saving citizens&#039;&#039;. This was an award conferred by the senate upon the recipient for having saved the lives or restored the freedom of roman citizens.</p><p><br /></p><p>This motif, or variants of it, is found on sestertii of Augustus, Gaius, Claudius, Galba, Vespasian and Hadrian.
