Never ever got the results with Nic-A-date I get with an acid bath. It takes more work but the results are far better. People make a mistake using something like Brasso. Well..your not working with chrome and your coin should look like Nickel, a dark metal. Get a kick out of people who never done it, who have the answers. Like anything good, it takes time a bit of work, no instant gratification. Just stating what I do, take it or leave it!

I get it ! Not very good at typing, forgot the (a) at 72 I have a tendency of forgetting some things. It don't get any better, it is all down hill! just passing some things on. been doing this longer that most people have been alive, and had great results.

My first job as a teen ager was working for a coin broker in 1962 restoring old coins . In those days it was not thought of as doing anything wrong and those coins , Gold, silver, copper and other metals were sold as original. That is how I got the bug on restoring and improved it over the years. No notice that the coin was restored in any way. Removing scratches , bag marks ect. The cat is out of the bag and people started doing it themselves. It was called the tricks of the trade. Well I see I had upset some here. Not intended, so Ill say no more. Except this is nothing new. Just noticed a few posts where people were stuck with a ghost coin, wanted them to know it was not the end of the world.
    PEACE!
