Since I notice that my little "add on" label, that was pictured by Ethan on June 25th showed up in this discussion, I thought I would ad my 2cents worth to this as well. Long and short... I bust a lot of proof sets. Over 600 1964's in the past 2 years (I keep a pretty good inventory count by year of what comes & what goes). I get them from coin shows around the country as well as dealers here in Colorado. Sometimes in small quantities & sometimes by the hundreds. I haven't kept an exact count of how many are what type since I also pass on a lot of sets that have problems (milk spots primarily) that do not get added to my inventory count. So this is not an exact estimate... but here goes. Sets that were purchased already identified as Accented Hair are not included in these counts. 624 sets were broken, 198 were rejected / scrapped for small milk spots I did not see without a glass at time of purchase (again no type noted). 22 sets of the remainder were accented hair that were found in sealed sets. That leaves 404 sets that yielded 11 rolls I put together & sold that contained what I thought were average/better quality proofs (65 / 66 grade) 75 of these were noted as type 1 reverse, 145 were type 2 reverse. Then, 18 of each type 1 & type 2 went into making 3 pc sets that also included the accented hair design. And last, 60 type 1 & 88 type 2 went to PCGS for certification (a little side note, type 2 reverse issues tend to grade higher & are more often cameo. Also, a lot of 1964 Kennedy Half Dollars have "Milk" spots). At any rate, bottom line for me was that out of @400 sets, @150 had the type 1 reverse.

Also, I have not counted these at all... but 1964 Mint Sets are a great source for 1964-D type 1 reverse Kennedy's if anyone cares. Have 15 sets on hand and 12 have them... just a little FYI.
