??? about the 1922 d wheat cent

    Well maybe it is a die pair 3. I cant say for sure, but use the site I linked and compare the die 3 diagnostics to yours and see if they match up.

    I don't know if I would call it rare...but if it is from that die that means that it was made by the same die that produced some of the "No D" cents. That die also produced some of the "weak D" cents which do carry a premium.

    Well define rare? There are quite a few of weak D's and even no D die pair 2's out there. If you are asking if they hold a premium? Yes usually. However die pairs 1, 3, and 4 are caused by weak strikes and grease filled dies, whereas die pair 2 is caused from over-polishing of the dies, removing the mintmark. That one being the most valuable.

    I find the other three are more desirable if the mintmark is missing altogether, yours isnt. And take into consideration its condition, you may not get much for it. And that is only if you can prove for sure it is infact die pair 3. But i dont think this one will carry much of a premuim even if it truly is die pair 3.
