I want to buy a coin cabinet. I know that mahogany is the best wood but for me difficult to find inside EU someone who makes out of this wood. I found a seller that makes the body out of dry fir and the drawers out of touliper. The velvet inside is made out of viscose. I have heard about woods that are considered not good for storing and even damaging (which I don't really understand how) to coins due to outgassing. Are these woods ok for coins, or should I consider them dangerous. I really want to buy a cabinet but I am afraid not to damage my collection.
