I learned here that when the edges of a scar or interesting feature on a coin point out or away from the interior of the coin, then it was caused by damage to the coin that occurred after the coin was minted. I'm new so someone may come along and correct or tweak this. But if I am correct it would be called "post mint damage" and wouldn't add any monetary value to the cent. (Let's see if I got this right).
