This is a T-20 Confederate $20.00 bill. Considered rare by some. It’s nicknamed the “Beehive” note. To the right in the top center picture is a beehive. It even had bees flying around it. The note itself is a fairly crude lithographic. The interesting thing about this CSA Note is, it’s counterfeit. It was made from a woodcut press. Plate number 6, printed signatures and hand written serial numbers. The serial number. The back is blank but you can see the entire front, backwards, of course as the paper is that thin.
I’m in the process of trying to find a genuine one. Not sure how long that will take. I think it will be very interesting to see, feel and compare a genuine CSA Note with a known forgery.
No, I purchased this as a known counterfeit and I did very well on the price. I have verified it as a counterfeit and I want to find a genuine bill. It would be great to have the same bill in similar condition, one a known counterfeit and the other a verified genuine CSA bill.
