Don't see much talk about the three cent pieces, so here goes nothing!

Currently looking for an 1851-O Silver Three Cent Piece for my O-type set. Ebay has a bunch of ugly raw ones or a bunch of very expensive certified ones (beyond my price/grade range).

Which design do you prefer - the silver or the nickel 3-cent piece? Partial to the nickel one my self.

Agreed but it'd prettier then the nickel to bad they didn't use the design for something bigger

I don't own either. I am always on the lookout for one that I like enough to add to my collection but I see mostly G-VF examples.

I have 1867 and 1873 3 cent pieces. They're really neat coins and quite the conversation pieces.

It does look like a crude mockup doesn't it? Hadn't looked at it closely until today.
