Thank you. Bostra, Provincia Arabia of course. There are very few camel types among Roman Provincials, only one RR that I know of (A. Scaurus), and couple of Imperial bronzes and denarii that show Arabia standing with a camel at her feet. All of them refer to Arabia and the Nabataeans.
I finally received my lots from the latest auctions and wanted to follow up with what my new Trajan's Column denarius looks like in hand: It's admittedly considerably more lustrous than my pictures show but it's difficult to capture both luster and surface condition. I was quite happily surprised upon receiving it!
As I said earlier in the thread, when you posted the seller's pics, I don't believe it's possible to upgrade that coin anymore! Well-done!
I always enjoy the detail and seeing the stretching of the fabric as the coin is struck. (Many years of manufacturing in my blood). Your denarius is a gorgeous piece.
Excellent upgrade to your previous coin. Not only is the reverse almost 100% perfect in showing the entire column, but the obverse portrait is equally artistic if not more so. The centering is nearly perfect. Quite a find!
