Seems silver Rosies are all over the place these days. I got two of them in change on two separate occasions this past week. Before these, I don't remember the last time I got one in change.
I have a large amount of empirical data from the past three years that states otherwise is the case in my area...
I received a 64' quarter in change from a gas station about 5 years ago. That's the only silver that I've ever gotten in change (that I've noticed anyway).
1961 quarter out of my change machine at work and nothing else since then, in a year or so. Congrats on the dime!
I seem to find between $.50 and $1.00 face in silver change every calendar year, give or take. Usually I'll find maybe a couple quarters and a war nickel, or whatever. This is the first silver dime I've seen in quite a while.
They're still out there, my girlfriend has picked a few from the nickel tray in her retail days. I average 1 buff every other box... so one in 4000 nickels.
The guy across the way from me at work got a buff just last week out of the snack machine, and I got a Merc out of the same machine about a year ago. Mike
Pop a buck in there and hit the return button, get some change back and see if there's anything good.
