Nice!! Those seem hard to come by in good condition. Yours has a much better strike and centering than the ones I recall seeing :) Okay :D I picked up my first scarab in the recent CNG auction. I've wanted one for some time but really don't know much about them-- including how to distinguish authentic from fake. CNG has scarabs once a year or so and I figured the likelihood of a fake is less with them, plus this one has more of a pedigree than some. I've unsuccessfully tried to win scarabs in past CNG auctions but this time stuck. It was the only one I bid on and I was very happy to win it and for less than estimate and with only one incremental bid. I like the unmistakable depiction of Isis and the sentiment expressed by the cartouche. Seller's images. Blue glazed steatite scarab.
