I tend to side with the folks who say "Buy the coin, not the slab" but in this case I'll make a welcome exception: The Rochester Numismatic Association received these to celebrate the 2000th meeting of the club, which took place earlier this month. I got one, and thanks to a generous member of the RNA, so did Thalia Elizabeth.
I agree - very nice! I am sure your daughter will treasure it - it's really nice she was able to get one too.
Technically, Thalia Elizabeth wasn't supposed to get one, but she was present at the 2000th meeting-- she wanted to attend, at least for a while-- and one of the other members gave her his copy of the coin. You do meet very nice people in this hobby, and we shouldn't lose sight of that among all the, ahem, less nice people.
Just PM'd you on that but the short answer is, yes, since we've just made a change to the application process.
