    Reference
RIC IV 536 (Severus); RSC 194
    Grade Very fine
    Comments Interesting early portrait!
@dougsmit has an outstanding collection of these as does @TIF I believe:
I have seen many of these issues on CT and this youthful clear portrait struck me as exceptionally pretty. I know the flan is ragged, the weight on the light side and the legends poor but the images-personages are pretty spectacular I think. Was motivated to purchase this coin here in the last minutes of the year. May all of you have a fruitful new year to be filled with goodness, beauty and domestic peace!

Nice coin @Mike Margolis . Congrats on your last of the year.

Though Athena may not be as well known for her rockin' rear end as Venus I think she's kind of strutting her stuff on this reverse :D:hilarious:

I've always liked the design of this coin @Mike Margolis. Yours makes Domna look attractive. I wonder how true to life?

Great coins all! I am quite a fan of the Venus reverse but that Athena of @Curtisimo 's is pretty awesome!

Wow- she does have quite the cute butt! Must be careful though to be the most respectful in regards to that Lady! and her aegis may double as a palette and the thunderbolt as a radical style of paintbrush.

Here’s my recently acquired example, which I still haven’t gotten around to attributing. Oh, and a Happy New Year to all!

March was the original first month of Roman calendar, and the Ides (15th) was the feast day of Anna Perenna, the goddess of springtime, renewal and longevity. Her sacred grove was at the first milestone of the Via Flaminia, and on her feast day, the populace would gather to usher in the new year, making merry by the moonlight, drinking wine and wishing each other a long life.

That's a great denarius of queen Julia, @Mike Margolis ! I have one that's remarkably similar.

Deacon Ray, your coin & Mike's look like they were cut by the same celator ;). There is an expression of sadness on both portraits, especially your coin :(.
