To me this is a strange penny because on both sides there appears to be two pennies. Tails and head on one side and heads and tails on the other. What really stood out to me was the heads on one side and the tails only showing the date of the coin. Is this possible that only the date shows?
@JAMES RONDINONE The image of the "front" is too small. Please post it again using the "Full Image" option.
This penny is very unusual. On one side is a heads with tails and on the other a tail with heads. On the heads with tails, the only image on the tail is the date of the coin. Is that possible? Please help.
You should correct your first thread, not start a new one. Help, mods! @lordmarcovan @GDJMSP @desertgem ......or whomever is on duty.
Nice Flip-Over Double Strike. I can't enlarge any of the obv. photos, but I'd bet the date shows on the first strike - the 2nd strike had a uniface obverse strike from a planchet laying on top of the just-struck F/O'd coin.
The Cent in question is a True Mint Error. It was struck once and when ejected it flipped over and was struck again over another Plancher.. Usually the 2nd strike is Uniface. Oh Fred just explained it
Here is the obverse of the coin a bit larger.. the sellers provenance in the description is legit, I think the coin is legit.
